Returning goods

In the European Union, the customer has the right to return the goods to the e-seller within 14 days and to receive a full refund of the paid purchase amount. What are the customer's rights when returning goods and which goods cannot be returned

The rights of the customer as a consumer are laid down primarily in the European Union directive, which regulates the rights related to the sale and warranty of consumer goods. It is important to distinguish between two important nuances - the 14-day right to withdraw from the contract and the two-year right to submit claims.

The 14-day right of return means that you can return the goods to the seller within this period and get the entire amount paid back, while it is not necessary to give the seller a reason for withdrawing from the contract. However, the two-year right to submit claims means that if the purchased goods do not conform to the contract, the consumer has the right to have the goods conform to the contract restored free of charge either by repair or replacement, as well as to reduce the price of the goods or cancel the contract and get the money paid for the goods back.

It is important to remember here that although some sellers also accept a bank statement, they also have the right to require a purchase receipt. It is definitely worth keeping the purchase receipts for more expensive goods, as the seller may require it when returning the goods or making claims.

If the purchased product does not fit for any reason, the customer has the right to return the product within 14 days from the day he received the product. The seller is obliged to return the purchase amount within 14 days from the submission of the withdrawal statement.

In order to return the product, a written statement of withdrawal from the contract must be submitted to the seller in the prescribed form. You have the right to return the purchased goods and get a full refund also in the case of goods purchased using the internet or other remote selling options (e.g. telephone, mail or mobile sales). If the deadline for returning the goods happens to be a holiday, the deadline is extended to the next working day. The product can also be exchanged or replaced.

The seller can refuse to take back the goods if the products are not intact, there is no original packaging, there is no price tag, there is no purchase receipt for the purchase of the goods.

It is important to know that when returning the product, it must be unworn, with tags and in the original packaging. These restrictions do not apply to defective products.

To return goods and/or make claims, please send an email to epood(at)wfish.ee. In the case of a claim, a description of the product's defects, breakage or other errors must be added.
